Ravi Shridhar, MD, PhD, is on the faculty of the ASTRO E-Contouring course, a role that allows him to teach community radiation oncologists in the use of radiation therapy for the treatment of esophageal cancer. He is an invited speaker at national medical meetings and an instructor for a national board review course at the Osler Institute. He has joined AdventHealth from Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL, where he has served as Chief of Radiation Oncology GI Service and Chief of TheraSphere™ Radioembolization Service. Dr. Shridhar has also acted as Assistant Professor of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, FL. Over the years, he has taught oncology to physicians in training and has conducted extraordinary medical research and clinical trials, including more than 140 peer-reviewed publications, scientific abstracts, and poster presentations. Ravi Shridhar, MD, PhD, is a 2004-graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI. His postgraduate training includes his internal medicine internship conducted at Beaumont Hospital (2004-2005) and radiation oncology residency served at The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit, MI (2005-2009). Dr. Shridhar completed his PhD in Pharmacology and Cancer Biology at Wayne State University (2000). He attained board certification in radiation oncology with the American Board of Radiology. Furthermore, he is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the Southwest Oncology Group, and the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group. Through extensive research and clinical trials dedicated to developing effective new radiation therapy techniques for pancreatic and gastrointestinal cancer, Dr. Shridhar has helped move forward the battle against these life-threatening diseases.
